How it works
Please be aware
that six-step guide
below details how to completely wipe your phone and restore it
to its factory settings. When finished, your phone will be set up like it's
brand new, out of the box .
If you only want to
restart your phone, because it's frozen or is acting strangely, here's how:
1. Press and hold the Alt key
2. While holding down
the Alt key, press and hold the Right
Shift key and then the Delete key
You should now be
holding all 3 keys simultaneously. In a few moments, your phone will restart.
NOTE: If you can't get into the settings menu, try removing and replacing the battery, and then turning the phone ON. This effectively restarts the phone.
The following
method will restore your phone and is helpful if it keeps freezing, won't
respond or you’ve forgotten the security PIN.
· Restoring your Bold 9900 to factory settings will
delete all data, so if you’re not locked out of the phone you should
first try and do a back up. Restoring your phone won't affect the SIM card or
removable memory card
Restore your smartphones to factory
defaults
Step 1
From the home
screen, open the All applications/icon menu and
select the Options.
Step 2
Scroll down and
select Security.
Step 3
Select Security Wipe.
Step 4
Check the boxes
corresponding to the data you want to be completely deleted, like 'Application
data'.
Step 5
Confirm you want to
delete your data and factory reset your phone by typing the word 'blackberry' in the field provided and then selecting 'Wipe'.
Step 6
The process can
take up to 10 minutes, depending on the amount of data on your phone. When
finished, your phone will restart and begin the setup process.
